about gemma stone
My name is Kal (she/her), and I am the hands behind the gems. I live in the Canadian Prairies, located on Treaty 6 Territory.
I created gemma stone to offer you, stylish person, an array of beautifully handcrafted statement pieces without breaking the bank. At this time, I mainly focus on statement earrings designed to elevate your outfits.
Sustainability is a key value, so most of my earrings are made by repurposing old jewelry from thrift shops or by donation. Notably, I always use brand-new earring hooks/posts/backings - using safe metals. To learn more about the metals I use, keep reading below!

about the metals
Earrings hooks and the ball-end studs (posts and backings) are 316L Surgical Stainless Steel (SSS).
-
Surgical steel is made from alloys like nickel, iron, chromium, and carbon.
-
316L SSS is a biocompatible grade of surgical steel, meaning it is compatible with living tissue and rarely causes allergic reactions when used for making body jewelry.
-
This grade of steel complies with ASTM F138 Standards, which is the organization that establishes international safety guidelines for materials used in making body jewelry.
-
It is affordable, lightweight, durable, and highly resistant to corrosion, tarnishing, and scratching.
All other studs (posts and backings) are titanium.
-
Titanium is a nickel-free metal, making it ideal for piercings.
-
It is lightweight, strong, and highly resistant to corrosion and scratching.
PLEASE NOTE
Although rare, reactions to these metals can occur.
If you have experienced a reaction to 316L surgical stainless steel or titanium in the past, unfortunately, these are not the gems for you.

Please keep this in mind as I do NOT process returns, exchanges, or store credit.
Thank you for your understanding,
Kal
